Education & Career Programs


These programs are designed to prepare youth for a successful future and create a clear pathway to their chosen career goals. 

Music Education & Performance


Music has the power to change lives. Fender Play Foundation works with BGCMLA to ensure our Club members have access to high quality music education.


In addition, the program Notes for Notes provide our youth access to various musical instruments, instruction and recording studio environments so that music may become a profoundly positive influence in our Club members lives.

Future Pathways


Future Pathways is a college and career readiness program that helps high school students succeed. The program offers a variety of services, including academic support, career counseling, financial aid assistance, and opportunities to explore new interests.


Future Pathways also provides students with mentorship and internship experience. The long-term goal of the program is to increase the percentage of  students that graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education and training. Whatever path participants choose after high school graduation, Future Pathways aims to help them become well-rounded individuals with the skills, knowledge, and resources to be successful in whatever career path they choose.

College Bound


A college readiness program, provides a range of services to guide Club members as they work toward high school graduation and prepare for post-secondary education and career success.

DIY STEM


DIY STEM is a hands-on, activity-based STEM curriculum which connects youth aged 9 to 12 to science themes they encounter regularly. Special attention is paid to connections of theory and application and the common interactions members have with these scientific principles. DIY STEM currently includes five modules: Energy and Electricity, Engineering Design, Food Chemistry, Science of Sports: Football.

Fine Arts


Fine arts is a program dedicated to providing arts education and performance opportunities to middle school youth. Our arts program play an important part of our youths development, offering them avenues to create, express, discover and explore themselves and the environment in which they live. 

My Future


My.Future provides members with a safe, fun digital platform to showcase their work and earn recognition in the form of stars, badges and master badges. It’s a space where kids can interact with each other – free from the prospect of cyberbullying – and share their accomplishments locally and nationally. It’s a great way to experience BGCA’s digital programming, make friends and build a positive self-image through online achievement.

Power Hour


Designed specifically to help kids and teens with homework, this program is available after school at Clubs. Dedicated youth development professionals and volunteers supervise each session and help youth members complete their assignments for the day. When they finish their work, they may choose to participate in a variety of other engaging and educational activities to develop their skills even further.

Power Hour is a great opportunity for kids and teens to get their homework completed in a quiet place with support from trained, caring staff at a Boys & Girls Club.

Summer Brain Gain


Summer Brain Gain is comprised of one-week modules with fun, themed activities for elementary school, middle school and high school students that are aligned with common core anchor standards. Supported by Disney, each module takes a project-based learning approach: youth engage in a process of learning through discovery, creative expression, group work and a final project or production. As a result, kids develop higher-order thinking skills through the Summer Brain Gain modules while staying on track for the coming school year.
