Michelle Gomez has worked within the Boys & Girls Club movement since 2012. A strong believer in post-secondary studies, she has an M.A in Education from CSU, Long Beach and a B.A in Ethnic Studies from UC San Diego. 


Michelle has extensive experience with Academic Success Programs having worked with organizations such as Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID), the Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP), and providing counseling for students at Long Beach City College. Michelle has been working to increase college access for at-risk youth over several years with remarkable results. Her passion lies in the areas of program planning and implementation, having led various program pilots with much success. Her most recent project allowed her to be selected to present at Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Pacific Region Conference in September of 2017 on the successful implementation of the redesigned Power Hour curriculum. As a South Los Angeles native, Michelle is an advocate for increasing opportunities for underserved youth and values the importance of quality after-school programming.
